Nahid de Belgeonne writes instead of looking after ourselves throughout our lives, we mainly tend to ourselves only when we are broken. We don’t stop to ask why am I feeling anxious, sad, emotionally tired ? Why do we tolerate our dis-ease? We push, bodies tense and sore, brains constantly overstimulated. Feeling grateful for and content with our circumstances AND hugely ill at the bombardment that lodges deep within slowly eroding our sense of peace. The cause ? Overworked nervous systems. Unprocessed emotions. Hypervigilance. Sensitive. Squeezed. Confused. I have no time to think about the way I feel or what my feelings are doing to unravel my well-being. You hope sleep will re-boot you and yet you have an aroused mind when you lie in bed. Apathy. Lack of enthusiasm. The spark is gone.
