Stress is our reaction to a challenge, say, a work deadline or a change, say, the loss of someone we love, or a demand, say an overdue bill for which we have no funds OR whatever we imagine to be real.
Acute stress is an event, say, an assault, a car accident, an illness, an injury, a natural disaster, a trauma that may be life-threatening and, therefore, requires immediate medical attention.
Chronic stress is ongoing, results in harm to our BrainBodyBEing, and requires a commitment to a different way in which we choose to conduct our lives.
Eustress is good stress. It is the opposite of distress. It allows us to be energized, experience joy, and feel successful.
