BALANCE TOOL (PART THREE)

If you have drawn your circle divided into the number of sections you chose, proceed with the next activity.

If not, there is no pressure, no rush, no stress.

Take the time you need.

Always be gentle and kind with your self.

This is a serious undertaking but one that ought to be enJOYable, too.

ACTIVITY:

For each section in your circle, draw a circle.

Write the name of the section above the circle.

Divide the circle into four sections.

Label each section: Brain, Body, BEing, Development

Address each section.

EXAMPLE:

BRAIN:

Do you read ? What do you read ? Do you watch movies, programs, series ? What genre(s) ? To what and to whom do you listen ? Do you play games ? Which ones ? In other words, what are you doing to help, not harm, your brain ?

BODY:

Do you do breathwork ? Do you practice qigong ? Do you garden ? Do you lift weights ? Do you do yoga ? Do you spend time in a sauna ? Do you swim ? Do you walk in nature ? In other words, what are you doing to help, not harm, your body ?

BEING:

Do you have morning, afternoon, evening, bedtime rituals ? What are they ? Do you have facials, manicures, massages, pedicures, wraps ? Do you schedule time with family and friends ? Do you take classes in something that is completely new to you like a foreign language ? In other words, what are you doing to help, not harm, your self ?

DEVELOPMENT:

Do you connect to current events ? Do you study something about which you have no knowledge ? Do you explore your personal sense of spirituality ? In other words, what are you doing to help, not harm, your self-awareness in the world ?

Remember there is no end point.

Examine, modify, and re-set is ongoing BrainBodyBEing hygiene.

The goal is balance between sympathetic (react) and parasympathetic (respond) in order to avoid dorsal, engage ventral, and situate your self on a regular basis in the place inside your self where you are able to build flexibility and resilience for calm, peace, safety, and strength.
